Job Title:                                        Intern - IT Helpdesk

Overview: IBTCI is seeking an Intern - IT Helpdesk to provide help desk and troubleshooting support in our Information Technology Department. This position will report to the Director of Information Technology or his designee. Though the position is currently held remotely, the successful candidate will be expected to work 2 days in our headquarters in Vienna, VA, and our satellite office in Washington, D.C.


Responsibilities

Essential Duties/Tasks and Responsibilities:

  • Perform installs, upgrades, moves, and changes for computer workstation hardware and software, printers, and peripheral devices.
  • Serve as an initial point of contact for all technical support required for computer workstation hardware and software, telephone, network, operating system, printing, and internet access problems.
  • Install, configure, and maintain personal computers, Windows networks, Apple workstations, file servers, network cabling, and other related devices.
  • Manage and maintain inventory for all IT equipment.
  • Perform software and hardware application installation and upgrades.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:

 

  • At least 6 months of work experience in a high volume, fast-paced work environment.
  • Must be detail-oriented and highly organized.
  • In-depth knowledge of Microsoft Windows network.
  • Strong knowledge of Windows 11 and Mac operating systems.
  • Previous experience with system configuration and troubleshooting.
  • Oral and written fluency in English is required, fluency in another language is preferred.

 

Education: Associate degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or relevant related field or Equivalent IT certifications.

 

 

Preferred Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

 

  • Demonstrated experience with troubleshooting hardware and software issues.
  • Previous experience providing help desk support for end-users.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team with minimal supervision.
  • CompTIA A+ Certified is strongly preferred.

 

Working Environment: Work is typically performed in an office environment. Currently, the company is allowing for hybrid work in the District of Columbia, Maryland, and Virginia (DMV) area. This can be updated by the company.

 

 

Physical Requirements: This is largely a sedentary position that required the ability to speak, hear, see, and lift small objects up to 20 lbs.

 

Supervisory Responsibility: This position does not have supervisory responsibilities.

 

Travel: Local travel including time spent in our satellite office in Washington, D.C.

 

Work Authorization: The candidate must be authorized to work in the U.S.

The anticipated pay range for this position is 16 USD to 18 USD per hour.
